Brady Walton, a.k.a. "The Balloon Man", was a child killer who appeared in "Pretty Red Balloon".
History[]
A closeted pedophile, Walton worked as a city-employed electrician. He became responsible for the abductions and murders of two boys. Because balloon animals were found at the abduction sites, the media called him "The Balloon Man". In "Pretty Red Balloon", a boy named Connor Flint was abducted by a man who copycatted Walton's M.O., leaving behind a balloon animal. When the CBI discovered the connection between the kidnappings, they brought Walton, a supposed witness of the second abduction, in for questioning, but got nothing out of him. When they looked into a pedophile chatroom online, they identified Walton's alias and realized that he was the kidnapper. Lisbon, Van Pelt, Rigsby and Cho went to his house to save Connor, but Walton fired at them from inside the house with an AK assault rifle. As they were pinned down and Walton was about to kill Lisbon, Van Pelt shot him from behind, sending him falling out the window. Injured but alive, Walton claimed to know nothing about Connor's disappearance, which was confirmed when he turned out to have an alibi for it.
Modus Operandi[]
Walton's victims were dark-haired, pre-teen boys. Using a balloon animal as a lure, he approached them when they were waiting alone for their school buses. After abducting them, he took them to his home, held them captive and presumably molested them over a period of 12 hours before strangling them to death.
