Sarah Harrigan is a public defender that the team first meets in the Season 3 episode "Every Rose Has Its Thorn", where she is a client at a matchmaking service (provided by the company which was ran by Erica Flynn). Her interest is piqued by Rigsby during an interview regarding an alibi she provides to a suspect, after which she asks him out on a date, which he accepts. She and Rigsby continue their relationship during Season 4, where she is assigned as the legal counsel for a suspect the team is interviewing in one episode. During another episode, she assists Rigsby with his upcoming testimony for a case that has gone to trial. After they consummate their relationship in another episode, it is revealed that she is pregnant. In "War Of The Roses", she and Rigsby were starting to prepare for their impending parenthood. Later in the episode "Something's Rotten in Redmund," Sarah gives birth (off-camera) to her and Rigsby's son, Benjamin.
In The Redshirt about him and interrogated Sarah Harrigan been said that Steve Rigsby is a specialist in motorcycle gangs and that he is punished.
In "Blood Feud" it is stated by Rigsby that they are not together anymore.
